Introductory Oil Painting Workshop

Sacred Basecamp invites you to slow down and try your hand at something new. This introductory oil painting session explores the fundamentals of a time-honored medium, in a historic space built nearly a century ago. Flooded with natural light and creative atmosphere, Sacred Basecamp’s upper level great room will become a creative sanctuary for this course. Students will leave with a completed original painting — and a deeper understanding of oil painting processes, materials and technique. *Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow for introductions.

Small Group Size (4-8 people)
Art supplies and materials
Non-alcoholic beverages.
Optional after-workshop tour of Sacred Basecamp at 1 p.m. to learn more about the renovation of this historically significant property and view the oil painting collection displayed throughout the space (some of which were painted by the workshop instructor!)

Is this class beginner friendly?

We ask that participants are at least 10 years old and able to focus in a group setting for 3-hours. Participants under 14 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone over 18.Do I need to bring anything?
Please bring an apron, or oversized shirt to wear while painting. Please also keep in mind that accidents sometimes happen while painting, and that oil paint permanently stains fabric. Please dress accordingly and to your comfort level.Will you offer this class regularly?
This is the first in a summer series of creative workshops. We intend to offer this particular workshop seasonally in Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.Is the registration fee refundable?
